Courage and Equanimity in Challenging Times

  • Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 1218 West Addison Street Chicago, IL, 60613 United States (map)

Please join Chicago Meditates and Insight Chicago Meditation Community (ICMC) for a day of mindfulnesss.

We will practice "taking our seats" in the midst of challenging times with sitting meditation, walking meditation, Qigong (mindful movement), eating meditation, a short dharma teaching, and group sharing. Though we offer no answers, we can gain much support and encouragement in practice together in the midst of the turbulence of life.

All are welcome - experienced practitioners and newcomers alike. Much of the day will be conducted in Noble Silence. Please plan to attend for the duration of the entire day, from 10AM to 4PM.

The schedule for the day can be found here.

Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a cushion or mat if you prefer sitting on the floor. Chairs will be provided. Bring a "brown bag" lunch and a beverage for our "eating meditation" period (lunch). There is a kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, and tap water to drink.

The location is Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1218 Addison St., Chicago. Please enter through the side door on Magnolia. We will be on the second floor in the Passavant Room. CTA Addison Red Line and Southport Brown Line stops are walking distance. Street parking is free until permit parking begins at 6PM. Allow plenty of time to find parking in Lakeview's densely populated neighborhood.

Tickets are $20 cash at the door or via Zelle. We will give you the email address for Zelle payment at the door. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
