The Chicago Weekly Sitting Meditation Group and the North Suburban Meditation Community will host a weekend meditation retreat, Friday, October 4, 2019, 10AM to Sunday, October 6, 2019, 3PM at the Cenacle Retreat and Conference Center in Chicago.
Our guides will be Janice Cittasubha Sheppard and David Haskin. The retreat format draws from the Mindfulness teachers of Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh and from the Theravada Thai Forest tradition of tranquility and insight meditation. This retreat is appropriate for those newer to Mindfulness meditation and for experienced practitioners. The retreat will be held in Noble Silence and will include sitting and walking meditation, a Dharma talk each day, group interviews with a teacher and Qigong.
If you wish to read a detailed description of the weekend, you can view the flyer.
Registration for the retreat is through eventbrite.com. If you register there, you will be guided to make your room selection, state your roommate preference (if you are selecting a double room), report your dietary restrictions, and make full payment with a debit or credit card.
