Meditation and spiritual practice cultivate skillful attentiveness within all aspects of life, along with a deepening inquiry into what is actually going on. Many of our views are based on beliefs arising from habit and muddled motivation, so we must ask ourselves whether each of our beliefs is valid. Buddhist teachings advise ongoing reflection to achieve this purpose. Explore the crucial role of inquiry within the spiritual path as we learn to pay more attention, focus on what’s important, and look even more deeply within.
Santikaro is the founder of Liberation Park, a Buddhist retreat center in Wisconsin. There, he teaches Buddhism and meditation with an emphasis on the early Pali sources. He was a Buddhist monk for 19 years and a disciple of the renowned Thai meditation master Buddhadasa Bhikkhu.
